Excel Template Contract Management

Whether private or professional, we enter into contracts everywhere. Whether it’s a rental agreement or an employment contract, contracts have become an integral part of our lives.

But do we have a real overview of them?

Do we know exactly what the notice periods are and how much we really spend on contracts each month?

Exactly for this purpose I have created a small contract management in Excel.

What is the best way to use the Excel contract management?

First, download the template for free. You can find the download link at the end of the article. Then open it with a spreadsheet editor of your choice – probably Microsoft Excel.

Now comes the exhausting part: go through your documents and record the details in Excel.

For example, start with the lease agreement. When was it signed. How long is it valid. What is the contact information for the landlord. What is the monthly cost, etc.

Of course, the criteria of the contracts are never identical. A credit contract is of course much more complex than the one for a mobile connection. So if you can’t enter anything in a column, just make a dash or leave the field blank.

What you can enter within the contract management:

  • Type of contract
  • with whom concluded
  • at
  • contract duration
  • period of notice
  • cost per month
  • participating institutes / companies / brokers
  • boundary conditions
  • remarks (for contract-number if necessary)

Here you can see a small preview of the Excel template:

Other sources for contract management on the Internet

Unfortunately, my research has revealed mainly paid software sites. I did not find any real Excel templates. Therefore, I hope even more that my template will help you.

If you have found another helpful source, feel free to let me know in the comments or via email.

You can find the german version of this template here.
