Vacation-Planner 2023 [Free Template]

For 2023 I present a free vacation planner for smaller companies and employees.

With the last vacation planner, I have gradually published different versions. At the end, planners even for middle east were then on offer. In this article I will approach it a bit more structured and consider all forms from the beginning.

The vacation planner will be offered in these versions

Vacation planner for up to 7 employees
up to 20 employees
and a vacation planner for up to 7 employees for the Middle East.

Use of the vacation planner 2023

Users of the vacation planner from last year already know it and know: It is quite simple.

First, download the Excel template at the end of the article and open it with Excel or similar software such as Numbers from Apple or LibreOffice a free Office alternative.

Now you have two options: Either you edit the file directly in Excel or you print it out and mark the holidays of your employees by hand.

Editing the holiday planner with Excel

You have probably already received holiday requests from your team and can now enter them directly into the calendar. The easiest way is to put a cross (x-key) in the corresponding fields. If you like it colorful, you can also use colored symbols or color the whole cell accordingly.

It is best to save the file in a location that only the holiday planner can view, so that an employee cannot jump the queue 😉
If you want to be on the safe side, you can of course install a lock with password protection so that nothing really can happen.

But if you have some computer knowledge, you will probably be able to crack the password protection.

Analogue use of the holiday planner

As already mentioned above, it is also possible to print out the holiday planner, hang it on the notice board and have the employees fill it in directly with a ballpoint pen or coloured pencil. However, a meeting with a detailed discussion is probably better in order not to create any injustice.

Holiday planner PRO for 2023

For 2023 & 2024 I present a vacation planner PRO for companies with up to 7 employees.

The usage is pretty simple:

Fill out the worksheet “employees”. Put in the names, the starting time of the job and how much holidays the person should get.
If you want to see the public holidays of your country or state, chose it from the dropdown.
If your county/state is not shown, change one existing country to yours on top of the column.

Plan the holidays from your employees by putting a “1” for a full day and “0,5” for a half day vacation. The planner will automatically calculate the sum of vacation-days below the table.
